Bacon attacks Warhol and Johns in unreleased recording

Estimated reading time: < 1 minute

Unpublished recordings of the English artist Francis Bacon came to light despising and criticizing the icons of pop art Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns. Among the considerations and ironic comments exchanged with Barry Joule, his friend and neighbor, Bacon called his rivals' works “ridiculous” and “very bad”. The artist had authorized the recording of conversations under the condition that the tapes were only released at least 12 years after his death. (via The Guardian)
