Documenta from Kassel in crisis

Estimated reading time: < 1 minute

THE Kassel documents, the largest and most important contemporary art exhibition in the world, has been going through a crisis since 2017, when reports of embezzlement and a debt of €7 million overthrew Annette Kulenkampff, president of the organization, replaced by Wolfgang Orthmayr in April. Now Documenta will be led by Sabine Schormann, director of other important artistic organizations. Schormann will have the difficult task of ensuring the holding of the next edition of the show, Documenta 15, in 2022.
