We selected the best tips from the State of São Paulo for you to check out during the month of July 2022

This July, São Paulo is bursting with cultural programs for the whole family. So, to cheer up the school holidays, we've selected the best tips of what's going on for you to check out. But for those of you who are not in the State of São Paulo, don't worry, we have a list of indications in other corners of Brazil.

The activities consist of a playful and immersive activation of the institute's Espaço Olavo Setúbal space, where an excerpt from the Brasiliana Collection can be found. The items displayed there portray the country since the arrival of the colonizers and span five centuries, showing different stages of the histories of the Brazils. Participants, adventurers in training, will face challenges related to each module of the show and will receive items that will make up their logbook.

Pinacoteca of São Paulo

Always on the second Sunday of each month, PinaFamília takes place, aimed at family groups of all ages. In this program, the public is invited to visit the exhibition of the permanent collection Pinacoteca: Collection, accompanied by an educator, to then carry out a plastic activity. Educational games are also distributed at reception from 10 am, subject to availability.

Learning Festival – FestA!

The fifth edition of the Learning Festival, called FestA!, will share more than 350 activities among the 40 units of Sesc — you can choose between courses, workshops, game creation meetings and conversation circles. The list is big! At Sesc Belenzinho, for example, there is the “Xylographic Deck” course, in which participants can create a card game based on the elaboration and production of cards using woodcut techniques. At the Interlagos unit, the Cidade Inversão group offers the course “Analog Photography”, with the production of images in black and white, including a photographic output.

Ancient Egypt in Sun City

In addition to works from the collection of Masp and MAE, among images of monuments, sculptures and landscapes, the exhibition “Ancient Egypt in the City of the Sun” allows visitors to excavate objects as if they were an archaeologist, observe replicas of mummies inside Egyptian coffins, enter tombs and interact virtually with a sphinx.

Portinari for All and Quintal do Portinari

There's still time to check out the exhibition. portinari para Todos, which was extended until the end of the month and brings together more than 150 reproductions of works by the artist. The museum also offers children the “Backyard of Portinari”, a space with interactive installations and filled with technological resources to propose games.

The itinerant exhibition “História em Quadrões – Paintings by Maurício de Sousa” will be in Campinas until the end of the month. The exhibition brings together creations by Maurício de Souza inspired by iconic paintings and sculptures, which receive titles such as “Mônica Lisa”, “The last dinner” and “Independence of the gang”. Thus, the exhibition brings, with a lot of humor, artistic knowledge to the public of all ages.

The Educational Nucleus of the Museum will carry out many activities throughout the month. It is worth highlighting here some such as “Imaginary Territories”, which invites the public to invent a new country and draw with chalk on the floor of the external area; others that involve recreating stories from embroidery on photographs; or even creating origami.
