Taking advantage of the momentum of one of the largest art fairs in the country, which opens its 12th edition today in the city of Rio de Janeiro, we have listed four exhibitions for you to extend your cultural experience.

In addition to the unmissable institutional exhibitions, such as “Parada 7” at the Centro Municipal de Arte Hélio Oiticica, “From Asylum to the Park – 70 years of history” at the Museum of Images of the Unconscious, “CALDER + MIRÓ” at Casa Roberto Marinho, “A Color Defect” at MAR, “Nakoada” on MAM and the three singles on MAC Niterói, not to mention the solo show by Xavier Veilhan at the Nara Roesler gallery which we have already indicated here, Rio also has an extensive cultural agenda in the galleries. Therefore, we will show you our selection:

1. Carpentry

The exhibition “FALA COISA” is curated by Raul Mourão, which presents a dialogue between unpublished works by Barrão and Josh Callaghan. The meeting point between the two productions takes place in the assemblages that have an organic character, as if banal objects or objects of industrial use could sprout and grow from the agglutination of heterogeneous fragments.

Piúma, 2022, Vinicius Gerheim

In the solo show by Vinicius Gerheim, called “BREJO”, Minas Gerais biomes of the caatinga, cerrado and Atlantic forest materialize ex-castrated bodies in new possibilities of freedom. The artist starts from memory, touching patterns and repetitions of an autobiographical atmosphere. Therefore, the show permeates memories, visits the history of art and engages in negotiations between figures and backgrounds.
