Considered an icon of modern architecture in Brazil, Glass House (Casa de Vidro) was the first project built by the Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi.
Initially, the house was built to be inhabited by Lina and her husband, also Italian Pietro Maria Bardi. The couple has lived in the Glass House for over forty years.
The Glass House has been a listed heritage since 1987. For twenty-one years, the place is also the headquarters of the Lina Bo bardi and Pietro Maria Bardi Institute, housing part of the couple’s works and collections.
Currently, the Institute promotes different activities in the space, such as: exhibitions, videos, lectures, publications for research, meetings and visits.
