New York gallery owner David Killen claimed to have found six lost paintings by Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning in an abandoned warehouse purchased for US$15,000. The 200 works found within the site belonged to conservator Orrin Riley. The paintings are not signed, but Lawrence Castagna, an expert on De Kooning, confirmed the authenticity of the pieces, which are likely to be auctioned in October.
