Critic and curator Douglas Crimp dies

Douglas Crimp, art historian and critic and curator, known for the iconic “Pictures” show – an exhibition that defined an entire generation of artists, including Sherrie Levine, Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, Robert Longo – passed away yesterday, 05/06, aged 74 years. Crimp was also the author of several essays and books dealing with the AIDS crisis, the history of museums, theory queer, and about dance and performance in contemporary art.
