Damien Hirst and other YBAs raise millions for university

Goldsmiths University, where many of the Young British Artists were trained, will open the Goldsmiths Center for Contemporary Art in September thanks to the help of some of its most distinguished alumni. Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and Antony Gormley, among others, donated works that raised nearly $2 million at Christie's auction, covering nearly half of the project's total cost of $5.5 million (via artnet).
