The 15th edition of SP-Arte, which took place from April 3 to 7 at the Bienal Pavilion, had the participation of 164 art and design exhibitors from fourteen countries. Through the presentation of around two thousand artists, the Festival attracted more than 36 thousand people during the five days of the event – a record audience over these fifteen years.

SP-Arte 2019 was also marked by the profusion of donations to Brazilian artistic institutions. Museums such as MAR, MAM, MASP and Pinacoteca do Estado have chosen several works for their collections, donated by artists, galleries and collectors.

Among the highlights, a work by the trans artist Élle de Bernardini and two watercolors by Bruno Novaes became part of the MAR collection; MAM-SP received photographs by Claudia Andujar and Caio Reisewitz and videos by Regina Vater and Letícia Parente; Among the works donated to the Pinacoteca was the performance “Atoritoleituralogosh”, by Cristiano Lenhardt; finally, MASP received a direct donation from the artist Melvin Edwards, who exhibited at the museum last year in the individual Lynched Fragments.
