MAM work occupies São Paulo subway

Estimated reading time: < 1 minute

In partnership with ViaQuatro, the concessionaire responsible for the operation and maintenance of Line 4-Yellow in the São Paulo subway, the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo will show the public the work I'm looking for myself, by the artist Lenora de Barros, which is part of the Museum's collection.

The work, which will be displayed on 20 panels at the station, shows different self-portraits by the author, imitating photographs of missing people, common in subway stations and public roads. “But instead of looking for someone else, Lenora is looking for herself. In the midst of the crowd, we forget about ourselves, especially in the daily flow of coming and going. The artist invites us to remember that we change all the time and sometimes we don't even realize it: know yourself or yourself”, says Felipe Chaimovich, curator of MAM São Paulo, in the text he prepared for the exhibition.

The exposure I look for myself in the subway it will pass through three stations on Line 4-Yellow: from the 1st to the 31st of July, at the Paulista station; from the 1st to the 30th of August, at Luz station; and, from the 2nd to the 30th of September, at the Higienópolis-Mackenzie station.
