O Museu Sakıp Sabancı da Universidade Sabancı está localizado em Emirgan, em uma das áreas mais antigos de Istambul, no Bósforo. Após a morte de Hacı Ömer Sabancı em 1966, sua residência de versão, a Atlı Köşk, começou a ser usada Sakıp Sabancı, o filho mais velho.Foi onde Sakıp Sabancı abrigou, por muitos anos, sua rica coleção de caligrafia e pintura. Em 1998, juntamente com sua coleção e móveis, a mansão foi legada à Universidade Sabancı pela família Sabancı para ser transformada em museu. Com o anexo de uma galeria moderna, as áreas de exposição do museu foram abertas aos visitantes em 2002; com uma extensão adicional em 2005, o nível técnico do museu alcançou padrões internacionais.
Sabancı University’s Sakıp Sabancı Museum is located in Emirgan, at one of Istanbul’s oldest settlements on the Bosphorus. After the death of Hacı Ömer Sabancı in 1966, Atlı Köşk began to be used permanently as a home by Sakıp Sabancı in 1974 as the eldest of the family, and for many years housed Sakıp Sabancı’s rich collection of calligraphy and paintings. In 1998, together with its collection and furnishings, the mansion was bequeathed to Sabancı University by the Sabancı family to be transformed into a museum. With the annex of a modern gallery, the exhibition areas of the museum opened to visitors in 2002; with a further extension of the layout in 2005, the technical level of the museum reached international standards.
