Tinko Czetwertynski: 64T

Martha Pagy Art Office, Rio de Janeiro

Tinko Czetwertynski, a new artist represented by the Martha Pagy Arte office, and in her first solo show in Rio, presents photographs of exuberant tropical foliage in shades of violet. The title of this series _64T_ comes from the name of the analog film used in the photographs. Being tungsten-based and already expired, the chemical deterioration process gives the film a peculiar blue color, with violet tones, 'the color of the divine.' The plants, which are the subject of this series, have their own cycle of deterioration, just like the chemistry of the film. Together, the film and the plants remind us of the cycle of life and its beauty and speak of the passage of time and its marks. The exhibition opens to the public on 11/27/19 and runs until 02/20/2020, with visits by appointment only.
